The first day of the Camino and it was grueling walking 26km on pavement most of the way. We're somewhere east of the Lisbon airport at a VIP Executive hotel. Very nice and just what we needed on this first day. It was sunny and hot and a 3 liter water day , too. We arrived early, 2:30 in the afternoon. We met snother couple from Calgary this morning and they had a really short day so may not see them again.
We had a nice walk through the site of the Expo '98 along the Tejo River. The Vasvo de Gama bridge is the longest in Europe.
